I laughed as I read this. Over the course of our marriage my wife and I have taken turns beating each other running. My male ego can proudly say that I currently am holding the title, though I sheepishly have to admit she did just give birth to twins a few months ago. Who am I kidding, she will probably be whooping me again by summer!

Great photos, looks like an awesome trail/scenery!

Pulled off 14 on a treadmill once...once. Ha ha. I love my "mill." Also I love to do speed work on it. Much better than a track and it breaks it up and with good tunes jamming, it is great for holding a pace even when tired.

9 miles on a treadmill? I am awarding you 'stoic of the week' award for your sacrifice and bravery ;)

It is devoid of most joy, but when you are facing torrential down pours and can either run in that or on the treadmill, I would pick the treadmill. That isn't to say, I won't run in the rain, because I have and if it is mild, I enjoy it.

The other times I use the treadmill are when it is late at night. My wife doesn't like me running out late. Unfortunately, medium distance runs needed to happen during those times. My record distance on the treadmill, 9-miles. I am actually proud of the fortitude it took to pull that off.

Thank you Joe!

Amazing how much core strength is needed for sports that are normally thought of as relying on a high degree of skill, like tennis. I haven't played in years, but I do remember there is nothing quite like hitting the perfect return just out of reach of the opponent.

I consider running on a treadmill punishment. It is evil and devoid of joy. I refuse to do it!

That is a bummer, asthma can be quite the limiter. I think brisk walking is much friendlier to the airways.

Work should never interfere with running...

We need to work to buy fancy running gear that matches...
