Enjoyed this post! I highly recommend a book called "Clutter Busting: Letting Go of What's Holding You Back" by Brooks Palmer. Even if you have already gone through and de-cluttered your house/life, the stories of people Mr. Palmer has helped are very interesting to read. Especially useful for pack rats and hoarders.

I've done an experiment at home which ended up being very useful.I need to admit that neither me or my GF finished it completely but anyway it was very useful. Can't tell you where we took it from as I don't remember right now.

Experiment:
Get rid of one physical thing on day 1 of the experiment, get rid of 2 physical things on day 2, get rid of 3 physical things on day 3... Follow the cycle until day 30.

You got the point, right? During the process you discover how much trash you keep which is adding no value to your life.

BTW I finished on day 16, but I plan to do that again soon as I have an upcoming relocation to other country :)

I've been intending to experiment with a daily journal, but just haven't been able to make the habit stick, perhaps this summer I will actually follow through on it. I have noticed that there is an almost magical quality about writing down your goals, even if you don't look at them. They have a way of sticking in your subconscious.

I totally agree that clutter is more than physical. That is partly why I can't really get myself to get into social media. I call it 'cloud clutter'. :)

I also have a lot of clutter in my mind. I think too much. It causes insomnia. I've found ways around it, including, what I call keeping a 'da Vinci' journal. I can put my thoughts down and not worry about what they turn into. I give a local workshop called 'Clear the Chaos', because I think that most people struggle with too much physical, mental and emotional clutter.
